The Opportunity
Leveraging Netflix’s innovative and fast-paced culture, contribute to Netflix’s stated public commitments to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and match our remaining emissions from 2022 onwards in support of global net zero goals.
As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in measuring and tracking Netflix’s success in minimizing the greenhouse gas footprint of its operations and to spur suppliers to do the same. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and related data, which support the development of strategies to reduce them over time. This position requires a strong understanding of best practices in corporate emissions accounting, environmental science, and data science.
Responsibilities
Reporting into Netflix Sustainability within the Sustainability & Operations workstream, the Sustainability Data Analyst will be responsible for:
Data Collection and Management:
- Ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely collection of sustainability data to support reporting and analysis. Data types can range from energy consumption, transportation, production operations, procurement, and others.
Greenhouse Gas Footprinting:
- Support the calculation of the company’s greenhouse gas footprint using recognized methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol).
- Develop and maintain detailed records of greenhouse gas emission sources and related data and update supporting process documentation accordingly.
Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze trends in the company’s greenhouse gas data to inform strategy and decision making.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on greenhouse gas footprint findings for internal stakeholders.
- Support the development of sustainability reports.
- Provide data and reporting figures for relevant greenhouse gas disclosure regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to enhance greenhouse gas data initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Data Science, Sustainability, or a related field (e.g. Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering)
  • 3+ years of experience in GHG accounting
  • Advanced analytical spreadsheet skills
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial and operational analyses and working with complex and unstructured datasets
  • Familiarity with sustainability-related disclosure standards, data controls, or third-party assurance processes
  • Experience analyzing large datasets using enterprise software packages
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills including ability to communicate insights clearly and effectively
  • An appetite to drive impact individually and as a team member
Location: North America, remote
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $245,000.
