Product & Delivery Manager
Mollie
Mollie was founded in 2004 in Amsterdam. Since then, Mollie has grown exponentially to become a trusted payment service provider for over 200,000 businesses. However, this is just the beginning.
We feel that banking has been set up against us for too long. From overdraft fees to payment processing, banking products are confusing, stressful, and frankly—boring.
In contrast, Mollie was founded to change the status quo, aiming to provide a new generation of financial products designed to work entirely for our customers. A product-first approach that our customers can truly benefit from.
We share a high bar for building a product that our customers will love. Our focus is shipping value to these customers, through fast-paced product cycles.
Your opportunity:
You will be a key enabler of our mission to help merchants with effortless money management. As a Product & Delivery Manager in the Financial Services domain, you will be responsible for the Bank Interactions and Wallet teams. These teams are at the core of our financial processes, ensuring our customers, employees, and partners get paid.
Bank Interactions owns the Mollie Banking System, which is the one-stop banking hub at Mollie, enabling an easy setup for new financial services and payment methods. It provides insights into our bank accounts, bank transfers capabilities, and drives financial reconciliation.
Mollie's Wallet Team develops and oversees a digital wallet platform. We employ double-entry accounting to accurately track and manage financial transactions in multiple currencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Our system handles a wide range of transactions, maintaining a secure, scalable, and transparent double-entry bookkeeping system.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop deep knowledge about the very core of our business, take the lead of two engineering teams, and own critical processes underpinning the success of our business.
What you’ll be doing:
Knowledge gathering: Proactively developing deep knowledge about your product, stakeholder requirements, our banking partners, and the technologies and systems we rely on. You need to become the go-to expert.
Gathering requirements: Working with internal teams to understand the needs of different product areas that rely on these services, and working with engineering to define how our systems can be designed to meet these
Process and data mapping: Understanding the different flows of information between internal partners, the systems you are responsible for, and external partners
Defining the roadmap: Defining a structured and executable development roadmap, based on a clear set of priorities that are aligned with the Finance and Product teams that depend on these services
Driving delivery: Bringing structure to planning and the overarching development process, alongside the Engineering team and a Technical Lead. We won’t dictate any “framework”. Focus on output
Working cross-functionally: Working with colleagues from different parts of the organisation and taking the lead on problem-solving and alignment
Decision-Making: Taking the lead on choices that enable our company to deliver great products and services to our customers
What you’ll bring:
5+ years of experience technical product and delivery roles
Experience with back-end systems and integrations
Proven ability to set product direction and execute on this at speed
Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to manage expectations and communicate effectively with senior management
Outstanding project management capability, with a track record of driving delivery with dependencies across multiple teams
Highly collaborative ways of working, with experience working alongside engineering, finance, data, operations, and other product teams.
Detailed oriented mindset, never afraid to get your hands dirty, work side by side with the experts, and aim to become the expert yourself
Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience
Experience using data to understand performance and steer decision making
Preferred but not required: Experience and understanding of basic financial flows and bookkeeping concepts, including: foreign exchange, ledgers, payment initiation, reconciliation, refunds, and settlements
