Being part of the App Core team, you will focus on building and maintaining the foundations of our web & mobile apps, enabling internal teams to ship their customer-facing features faster across the different platforms.
As an Engineering Manager at Mollie, you are responsible for building & growing a world-class engineering team with a hacker’s mindset towards problem-solving. You will be involved in performance cycles and help your team members grow and reach the next stages of their career. Next to that, you will be responsible for driving technical discussions within the team focusing on building the best-in-class payments experience.
You will partner with a wide range of stakeholders to own and evolve the roadmap and technical strategy. Working in a fast paced environment, this is a highly critical and visible role that has a tangible impact on the end customer experience, as well as the company's bottomline.

What you'll be doing
All of our managers are hands-on so we will expect you to be technically savvy having a proven track record of working with React Native (mandatory) and TypeScript.
You will guide a a small technical team of 5, managing their performance cycles, providing continuous feedback and enabling them to reach the next stages in their career. You will take pride in your ability to both nurture and grow high performing teams;
You will be involved in the hiring process in order to build a world-class engineering team;
You will inspire change and motivate engineers to develop scalable solutions;
Develop a positive & collaborative work culture that empowers the team to perform at their best;
You will be part of a small team focused on solving clearly defined problem spaces.
What you have
Customer-obsession. You always do what’s best for the end-customer (internal teams, in this case) and you bring this mindset to the team.
Great management and team development skills. You’re able to set roadmap and goals for a team and its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, help team members grow in their careers and deliver results
Management experience: Preferably 3+ years management experience. You have experience in software engineering where you have demonstrated capability to successfully recruit, retain and grow top talent engineers
Engineering excellence. You have significant hands-on engineering experience in a variety of contexts, during which you've built scalable React / React Native applications and backend services. You are well-aware what other engineers expect to “just work” when building features and you use this knowledge to build the right tools and systems.
Bias towards action. You believe that speed and quality aren't mutually exclusive. You've shown good judgement about shipping as fast as possible while still making sure that products are built in a sustainable, responsible way - and you're comfortable making mistakes, provided you learn from them.
