Overview
As the M&A Integration Leader, you will design and manage the integration of acquired businesses and assets in alignment with LegalZoom’s strategy, values, and deal thesis. You will develop and execute detailed project plans, oversee key operational and cultural transformations, and be responsible for realizing the full potential of each transaction. This role requires nuanced strategic and executional leadership, expert program and stakeholder management, and effective communication across all functional areas during the integration lifecycle.
You will
- Develop the overall integration strategy and detailed project plan, ensuring alignment with the deal thesis and corporate objectives.
- Support the executive sponsor for the successful realization of identified deal synergies (both cost and revenue).
- Work with the business team and acquired company to break down barriers and identify risks/ mitigation plans to deliver on the deal thesis and critical business results.
- Assemble, partner, and manage the progress of the “core integration team”
- Ensure all functional integration leaders understand their roles and responsibilities during the transition period
- Assist with the launch of functional integration teams so they understand their charters and are organized for success
- Oversee the integration of key business systems and processes to achieve operational efficiencies.
- Brief the acquired management team and employees so that they understand the integration process and how it will impact them
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to C-Team.
- Escalate issues requiring senior-level input so they are resolved quickly and effectively
- Manage the interdependencies between functions so activities are prioritized and sequenced correctly
- Evaluate the risks associated with an integration and mitigate them to the most reasonable extent possible
- Document any handoffs to business line leaders at the end of the transition period
- Capture lessons learned and recommendations for future acquisitions to continuously improve LegalZoom's M&A playbook.
You have
- At least 8–10 years of relevant experience, with direct end-to-end integration management responsibility across multiple functions
- Designed and executed comprehensive integration strategies and detailed project plans that align with deal-specific strategic goals and broader corporate objectives.
- Established and led operational mechanisms to track progress, manage milestones, and measure outcomes against synergy targets.
- Partnered with executive sponsors and cross-functional business teams to remove barriers, mitigate risks, and realize both cost and revenue synergies.
- Assembled, led, and managed core integration teams, ensuring functional leaders were aligned, empowered, and accountable for execution success.
- Oversaw the integration of critical business systems, processes, and operational functions to drive efficiency and ensure a seamless transition.
- Developed and managed stakeholder communication plans, providing regular updates, dashboards, and escalations to the C-suite and key decision-makers.
- Expertise in M&A, change management, and operational integration best practices, tools, and methodologies
- Strong analytical skills; ability to diagnose issues, propose solutions, and track performance using data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a proactive and collaborative approach
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or related field) strongly preferred
LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($141,800 - $226,800). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
