Role Summary:

Klook is seeking a results-oriented Business Development Senior Associate to join our Activity Vertical team in Japan. As the travel industry experiences a massive resurgence, your mission will be to aggressively expand Klook’s inventory, ensuring we provide an unparalleled selection of experiences for inbound travelers from all over the world.

In this role, you will be a key driver of our supply growth strategy. You are responsible for identifying, pitching, and onboarding new partners major activities to hidden local workshops and outdoor adventures. This is a high-impact position where you will take ownership of enriching our product lineup to meet the diverse and evolving demands of global tourists visiting Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Partner Acquisition (Hunting): Proactively identify and onboard high-potential activity providers and local operators to expand Klook’s footprint across Japan. While we will grant enough support, this position will be responsible for enriching the acquisition pipeline and securing the acquisition results by identifying the most effective method to do the hunting.
  • Supply Portfolio Optimization: Analyze global traveler trends to ensure our inventory reflects the specific needs and interests of various source markets (e.g., Southeast Asia, Greater China, Europe, and North America).
  • Strategic Negotiation: Execute end-to-end business development cycles, from cold outreach to contract negotiation, ensuring competitive pricing and exclusive offerings for Klook users.
  • Account Growth: Build and maintain strong relationships with newly onboarded partners, leveraging data to help them optimize their listings and maximize their sales on the Klook platform.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor movements to ensure Klook remains the go-to platform for activities in Japan.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of work experience, with a preference for background in the travel tech industry. Experience in Sales or Business development is an advantage.
  • Language: Fluency in both Japanese and business level English.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to understand merchants / BD, and stakeholder requirements, gather product information, and manage client expectations. It involves being curious and using active listening to understand merchants.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage merchant portfolios, track sales activities, and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Data skills: Comfortable working with spreadsheets and internal management systems. Has a natural curiosity of working with data and systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on their strategic importance and potential business impact.Judgement:
