Job Summary:

At Klook, we're on a mission to connect travelers with the best experiences worldwide. As a Sales Manager in the Destination Partnership team for Japan, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our business goals by strategizing, planning, and executing partnerships with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) in the region. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the partnership cycle, from initial contact to execution, ensuring high-quality delivery and fostering long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with DMOs/Local governments in Japan.

  • Partnerships typically include sharing:

    • Influencing DMOs planning with data and insights

    • Support DMOs in digitalizing the travel industry especially the public attractions (museums, parks, castles, and shrines …etc).

    • Marketing campaigns in overseas markets to promote the destinations

  • Build rapport and deep understanding of partners' objectives, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling pitches tailored to each partner.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare proposals and ensure high quality execution.

  • Negotiate with partners to maximize Klook's interests while maintaining strong relationships.

  • Provide regular reporting and analysis to partners on partnership results.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate threats.

  • Network within the industry to build relationships and stay abreast of developments.

  • Develop thought leadership within the industry and represent Klook at events (for Senior Manager level).


Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, with at least 1 year in the travel industry. Knowledge of DMOs and experience of working with DMOs are plus.

  • Experience in marketing and project management skills is preferred.

  • Fluency in Japanese at a business level in conversation and writing is required. Fluency in English is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior management.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.

  • Comfortable working with diverse teams and cultures.

  • Startup mentality with a collaborative and entrepreneurial attitude.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20-30% of the time.
