Manager, Design
About This Role
We are seeking a proactive, agile and Art Manager in Design to join our dynamic marketing team. This role requires someone who can align with our business objectives, lead the design team and drive creative excellence across all projects. A passion for travel and an appreciation for diverse cultures will be essential in creating designs that resonate globally.
Your Mission
Create, lead and inspire a team of designers to produce engaging visuals, logos, and typography, all rooted in solid design principles. You are expected to embrace the latest in design technology, experiment with new technologies and methodologies, particularly in the realm of generative AI, and create designs that resonate on a global scale.
Success in this role hinges on your leadership skills and ability to manage stakeholders while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment across different cultures and regions. If you possess additional skills in illustration, animation, or editing, you will find ample opportunities to apply them here.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, continuous improvement, and open communication.
Cultivate a positive and productive team environment, provide clear direction, be constructive with feedback, and encourage collaboration and innovation.
Strategic Design and Business Alignment
Oversee, develop and execute design strategies that align with our brand identity and campaign objectives.
Ensure design outputs support business goals, fostering consistency and synergy across all projects.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate business insights into designs, driving measurable success and market relevance.
Visual Creation Mastery and Innovation
Take the lead to conceptualize and execute visually striking designs that align with our brand identity and campaign objectives.
Explore and implement new design approaches, integrating solutions, problem solve and iterating based on feedback.
Lead and create impactful campaign pages, logos, toolkits, and KVs, maintaining strong aesthetics in identity design, layout, colour, composition, and typography. Explore and experiment with typography trends to enhance design communication.
Stakeholder Management and Problem Solving
Together with the Project management team, as the primary liaison between the design team and key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
Anticipate and address potential challenges, providing strategic solutions to meet stakeholder expectations.
Balance stakeholder needs with creative integrity, ensuring designs meet both aesthetic and business requirements.
Proactive Work Style and Project Management
Manage multiple deadlines efficiently, prioritising tasks to ensure timely delivery of exceptional design work while thriving in an autonomous environment.
Take ownership of projects, driving them forward with precision and creativity. Demonstrate a self-starting attitude to initiate tasks and lead project execution.
Suggest and value add in project management processes to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
Continuous Skill Enhancement
Actively seek new learning opportunities to enhance personal and team capabilities and share insights with team members to foster a culture of knowledge and growth.
Regularly research and integrate new trends in graphic design and technology that could impact or benefit our brand strategy.
Seamless Collaboration
Facilitate seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams across diverse locations through excellent communication skills.
Foster cohesion and synergy in all design projects by being a team player.
Ensure smooth interaction and effective coordination among team members to achieve project goals.
What You’ll Need
A qualification in graphic, brand, and digital design.
A minimum of 8 years experience as a designer within a creative team in a marketing or creative agency setting.
Possesses experience in mentoring and managing junior designers.
Demonstrated expertise in visual creation, identity design, and typography exploration through a diverse portfolio.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere), comfortable with navigating between software.
Adept at prioritising tasks to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Proven ability to excel in an independent work environment.
A strong passion for travel and an appreciation for diverse cultures which will inform and inspire your design work.
