What You Will Do
We are currently seeking a sales hungry, customer oriented and detailed thinking Business Development Associate to join our Partner Success Team in Helsinki. You will be working with a portfolio of integrated mid to enterprise sized strategic merchants as their main business partner at Klarna. Your work will vary from joint business planning, negotiation of upsell and renewal opportunities and optimizing the merchants’ business with Klarna to daily engagement around ad hoc topics and problem solving. You own the business success and reporting of your portfolio and will be measured on KPIs such as GMV. You will play a key role in fostering positive merchant relationships and in preventing churn.
Next to this, you will also work end-to-end with strategic new sales opportunities, negotiations and closing new merchant contracts. To succeed in this position, you need to be highly customer and sales oriented, adaptable to a fast paced working culture and genuinely interested in diving into the world of eCommerce and payments. Your work will require the ability to prioritize and organize yourself in a dynamic manner. You will be supported to succeed by your local team. Your role will further include:
Working as a Klarna payments expert and named account owner to dedicated merchant partners. Offering consultative support to your portfolio.
Building an in-depth understanding via relevant analysis about your portfolio merchants’ businesses, and collaborating with them on a daily/weekly/quarterly basis in identifying optimization and growth opportunities.
Actively engaging with your portfolio merchants’ stakeholders (including c-suite) to build and maintain relationships and to secure merchant satisfaction.
Identifying new partnerships or business opportunities, pitching Klarna’s services, building business cases and closing deals.
Working closely with internal analysts, delivery, product and marketing teams at Klarna to drive partnership optimization, lead generation and problem solving.
Engaging as an active member of the Partner Success Team in Helsinki and the larger Klarna organization with the ambition of committing and delivering upon mutually agreed targets and ways of working.
Who You Are
3+ years of relevant experience in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales, and a track record of succeeding in these roles.
An ambition to grow and develop yourself professionally and to achieve mutually agreed targets.
An analytical and detailed thinking mindset.
Strong communication, and convincing presentation and negotiation skills.
Solid organizational skills and the willingness to keep up with dynamic ways of working
Ability to work independently and drive the success of your managed merchants in a fast-paced working environment.
Fluency in Finnish and English.
Awesome to Have
Prior experience in payments, eCom, retail or tech.
Experience working in a global company or with international partners.
Familiarity with CRM tools and sales management software.
