Job Description

The role involves identifying and leading strategic initiatives that will enhance Kipu’s Labs Platform, eRx, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) offerings as the business expands. As a vital member of the team, you will lead pivotal projects, making critical decisions about the growth and scalability of our systems. In your capacity as a Senior Software Engineer, collaboration with our product and design teams will be integral to shaping new product initiatives and implementing flexible, user-friendly features. Additionally, you will collaborate with fellow engineers throughout our engineering organization to identify and address systemic bottlenecks, design architectural enhancements, and implement them alongside your team. Our engineers are developing the next generation of EMR technologies, putting Kipu at the forefront of behavioral health and substance use treatment with the systems required to assist in all aspects of care.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing applications to automate internal business processes
  • Translating complex requirements on Medication management and dispensing and other enterprise processes into easy-to-use solutions
  • Developing new features and improvements to Kipu’s Labs Platform, eRx, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Develop background tasks/workers to automate business workflows
  • Integrate with third-party tools via APIs
  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in our industry, actively shaping the growth and scalability of services and features
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team to innovate in product features, spanning product education, automated user support flows for operational scalability, and the expansion of product capabilities
  • Build strong team relationships with multiple stakeholders including business, product, support, vendors, and end users
  • Working throughout the full stack

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 6 years of professional software development experience
  • Understanding of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) protocols, medications, and regulatory requirements
  • 2+ years of experience developing software solutions to support MAT programs
  • 2+ years of experience interfacing with eRx solutions such as Dosespot, DrFirst, FDB and their terminology (NCPDP, NPI, RxCui, RxNorm, etc.)
  • Experience in integrating with lab information systems (LIS)
  • Experience in implementing and troubleshooting HL7 interfaces
  • Knowledge of FHIR standards for healthcare data exchange a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate and share knowledge with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in an agile development environment.
  • Experience with Rails frameworks and tools
  • Proficient with scripting languages, specifically Ruby and Python
  • Proficient in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and VueJS
  • Exceptional communication with ability to convey technical ideas at a detailed level and translate complex non-technical stakeholder needs into precise technical requirements
  • Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, or related degree
