About the Role

Hi, I’m Tom Ayre, Development Manager at Jane. I joined in April 2025 and I’ve spent much of my career working on growth-focused teams where experimentation, iteration, and measurable impact really matter. That’s a big part of what drew me to this team at Jane.

I lead our Sign Up and Demo team within the Everboarding group. We shape the very first experience prospective customers have with Jane. From the moment someone lands on our website to the moment they try Jane for the first time, we’re responsible for reducing friction, increasing clarity, and helping the right clinics get started with confidence.

Our work directly connects to Jane’s mission to help the helpers. If we make it easier for practitioners to discover, explore, and successfully adopt Jane, we’re increasing the number of clinics that can spend more time caring for patients and less time on admin. The impact is real and highly visible across the company.

Something human about me - I grew up in Waterloo and still love the tech ecosystem here. I’m also someone who enjoys working on teams where we can ship quickly, learn from the data, and adjust without ego. That balance of speed and humility is important to me.

What makes this role especially exciting is the level of ownership and visibility. We are at the forefront of Jane’s growth. The metrics we influence are watched closely by leadership. We have the autonomy to experiment, iterate quickly, and meaningfully move the needle on acquisition and early retention. If you’re motivated by measurable impact and empowered teams, this is a special place to be.

What Impact We’re Looking for You to Make

  • Improve our top-of-funnel experience by leading data-informed experimentation that reduces friction, increases activation, and brings the right clinics into Jane - not just more sign ups, but better long-term fits.

  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to define and deliver initiatives that measurably improve acquisition and early retention, ensuring alignment and clarity across teams.

  • Shape the technical direction of the Sign Up and Demo space by bringing thoughtful opinions, clear rationale, and a willingness to push back when needed - helping us focus on the most meaningful problems.

  • Elevate the team by mentoring and coaching developers, raising the technical bar, and creating a multiplier effect where your influence improves quality, speed, and confidence across the group.

  • Champion a culture of experimentation and learning by strengthening our instrumentation, feedback loops, and use of AI tools - helping us move faster, learn quicker, and continuously improve how we work.

What Experience We Need

  • Significant experience in software development, including time operating at a senior or staff level, with a track record of influencing technical direction beyond your immediate team.

  • Experience in growth engineering or experimentation-driven environments, including building or improving instrumentation, experimentation frameworks, and feedback loops that drive measurable outcomes.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to align on goals and deliver impactful results.

  • Hands-on technical depth with the ability to review code, prototype solutions, guide architectural decisions, and navigate both new initiatives and legacy systems with pragmatism. Experience with Ruby on Rails or React is helpful but not required.

  • Comfort leveraging AI tools in your day-to-day work, along with curiosity about how AI can responsibly amplify team effectiveness and accelerate learning.

If you don’t meet every single qualification but are excited about this role, we’d still love to hear from you.
