The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Member Record & Configurator team, you will build the engine that ensures accurate, personalized, and seamless care for over 20 million lives. You won’t just be writing code; you will be designing the scalable data systems that allow us to transform joint and muscle care through technology. By integrating AI-driven solutions and automating complex care delivery flows, your work will directly impact member health outcomes and operational efficiency at scale.

What You'll Accomplish

• Deliver High-Impact Capabilities: You will lead the design and delivery of large-scale projects that introduce critical new product capabilities, acting as a core maintainer for key repositories that support our member journey.

• Drive Technical Strategy: You will collaborate with your team to roadmap and execute ambitious technical strategies, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural health and scalability.

• Elevate Engineering Excellence: You will proactively improve the maintainability, availability, and performance of our features, identifying and resolving root causes of incidents to ensure steady and predictable delivery.

• Force-Multiply the Team: You will mentor and support junior engineers through thoughtful code reviews and real-time pairing, empowering the team to level up together.

• Innovate with AI: You will integrate and leverage AI technologies (like GitHub Copilot and Cursor) to automate processes and enhance product features, contributing to the evolution of Hinge Health’s AI-driven care platform.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of non-internship full-time professional software development experience.

• 4+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.

• 4+ years of experience with at least one software programming language, with proficiency in TypeScript.

• 3+ years of work experience with Node.js and TypeScript.

• 1+ years of experience mentoring junior team members and leading technical decision-making.

• Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.

• Experience delivering large software projects or features in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring or onboarding junior engineers.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS), or scalable architectures.

• Experience with healthcare technology or regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2).

• Backend engineering experience with exposure to technologies like NestJS, GraphQL, Docker, Rails, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux.

• Experience with Agile development practices.

Hinge Health Hybrid Model

We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days/week.

This is a Bengaluru-based role that involves regular interaction and collaboration with Hinge Health colleagues in San Francisco, CA.

• Time zones: San Francisco is in the Pacific Time Zone, which is 12 hours and 30 minutes behind India Standard Time (e.g., 8am in San Francisco is 8:30pm in Bengaluru).

• Hours: Applicants should be open to meetings in the late evening following India Standard Time to align with San Francisco working hours (8am - 6pm PT).
