The Opportunity

Join the team that proves the value of our care. You will lead the engine that powers our commercial success by demonstrating the clinical and financial impact of Hinge Health’s programs. As we scale to serve millions of members, we need a strategic leader to not only oversee our research portfolio but to transform how we measure and communicate ROI to health plans and employers. You will bridge the gap between rigorous clinical science and commercial strategy, ensuring our data tells a compelling, evidence-based story that drives adoption and retention.

What You'll Accomplish

  • In your first 3 months: You will audit our current portfolio of research projects and ROI methodologies. You will build high-trust relationships with key cross-functional partners in Commercial, Product, and Engineering to understand their data needs and pain points.

  • In your first 6 months: You will implement new strategies to scale the efficiency of our ROI analyses, moving us away from manual, one-off studies toward more scalable solutions. You will take ownership of the research roadmap, ensuring all active projects are aligned with broader company OKRs.

  • In your first year: You will act as the primary strategic voice for Clinical Research, balancing the need for scientific rigor with commercial agility. You will have successfully led your team to publish and disseminate key findings that directly support our sales and contracting processes, positioning Hinge Health as the undisputed leader in MSK outcomes.

Who You Are

  • A "Learn-it-all": You constantly seek new methodologies to measure impact. You don't just rely on the way things have always been done; you look for efficient, creative paths to demonstrate value in a complex healthcare data environment.

  • A Commercial Translator: You speak two languages fluently: rigorous clinical research and business strategy. You can explain complex regression analyses to an actuary and then pivot to explaining the "so what" to a sales leader or a prospective client.

  • A Strategic Operator: You thrive in ambiguity and can manage a diverse portfolio of high-stakes projects. You know how to allocate resources effectively, prioritizing work that drives the biggest impact for the business.

  • A Talent Developer: You lead with empathy and high standards ("Lead at all levels"), providing your team with the guidance they need to grow while empowering them to own their results.

Basic Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in clinical research, health economics, or outcomes research, with a proven track record of managing complex research portfolios.

  • Leadership experience: 4+ years of experience managing high-performing teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development (aligned with M5 Director expectations).

  • Commercial fluency: Demonstrated experience partnering with commercial/sales teams to support client acquisition or retention through data and research.

  • Methodological expertise: Deep understanding of study design, ROI analysis, and health economic modeling, specifically within the healthcare or digital health space.

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, or equivalent) in epidemiology, health services research, or a related field.

  • Experience specifically with MSK (musculoskeletal) or pain medicine research.

  • Experience working with health plans or large self-insured employers.

  • Background in a high-growth technology or digital health environment.
