Job Description

About the Role

Hinge Health is looking for an exceptional and experienced Product Designer to join our Design Systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and evolving shared patterns and components to ensure a cohesive user experience across Hinge Health’s suite of products. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, refine, and implement design systems at scale. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, join our mission to revolutionize digital health and empower millions to live pain-free lives.

Who You Are:

  • Systems thinker — You can create, iterate, and refine components, including flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals within a comprehensive design system that supports multiple product areas.

  • Natural collaborator — You partner closely with design peers, engineers, and product managers to ensure the user experience is seamless and effective.

  • Passion for craft & quality — You’re a strong advocate for high-quality craft and best practices. You effectively communicate guidance and ensure adherence across the organization.

  • Design innovator — You are excited to redefine a space by bringing novel, delightful ideas to the table. You are able to pull from unexpected sources of inspiration and have a natural curiosity.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Design, document, and maintain reusable components, patterns, and templates that scale across product teams, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and performance.

  • Support the rollout and evolution of our visual language and motion guidelines, translating strategic direction into scalable, systemized components and documentation.

  • Audit and refine existing components and design tokens to improve usability, reduce inconsistencies, and drive adoption across platforms (iOS, Android, Web).

  • Partner closely with engineers to ensure design systems are implemented accurately in code, accounting for quality, accessibility, and responsive behavior.

  • Contribute to governance processes, helping define how components are proposed, reviewed, approved, and deprecated—balancing innovation with consistency.

  • Identify and champion opportunities for system improvements based on usage data, feedback loops, and product roadmap alignment.

  • Maintain clear documentation for designers and engineers that communicates usage guidelines, rationale, and responsive behavior for components and patterns.

  • Participate in design reviews and system critiques, offering thoughtful feedback and guiding others toward scalable and inclusive solutions.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing design system work and user-centered design solutions

  • Expert understanding of visual systems and practices, including layout, iconography, typography and have a curiosity and eye for pushing visual design in interfaces forward

  • Proficient in Figma and comfortable managing variables and components

  • A strong communicator and facilitator who can collaborate effectively on a global level with everyone from designers to engineers to leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • A curiosity for designing AI-powered features gracefully within existing product experiences

  • Experience with motion design and advanced prototyping

  • Passion for Healthcare or Fitness — you’re passionate about enabling others to live their healthiest lives through design and technology, and have experience in the industry
