How you’ll demonstrate Ownership

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, thrives in fast-paced environments, and enjoys connecting with people. You will develop a strong understanding of the challenges faced by organisations within the manufacturing sector, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor from the very first interaction.

A key part of the role will involve responding quickly and strategically to inbound interest, ensuring every opportunity is maximised. You will also play an active role in events, follow up with event-generated leads, and execute proactive outbound outreach campaigns to engage and nurture prospects through the sales funnel.

Working closely with both Sales and Marketing teams, you will help generate a consistent pipeline of high-quality opportunities, allowing Account Executives to focus on closing new business and expanding customer relationships.

Beyond pipeline generation, you will gather valuable market insights and customer feedback, helping to shape go-to-market strategies and deepen understanding of customer needs. The Impact you bring to Cognite

  • Take ownership of outbound prospecting activities, identifying and engaging key decision-makers across target accounts through personalised outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and social media.
  • Follow up quickly and strategically on inbound leads, qualifying opportunities and ensuring prospects receive a seamless and engaging experience from the first interaction.
  • Run qualification and discovery conversations with prospects to uncover business challenges, understand customer needs, and assess fit before handing over high-quality opportunities to the sales team.
  • Partner closely with Strategic Account Executives to build account intelligence, map stakeholders, identify use cases, and develop tailored account strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and wider teams to drive pipeline growth and achieve shared business goals.
  • Create thoughtful, highly personalised messaging that captures attention and builds relationships with senior stakeholders across target organisations.
  • Become a trusted expert in Cognite’s product suite, confidently articulating the value of solutions including Cognite Data Fusion, Knowledge Graph, and Atlas AI.
  • Support marketing campaigns and events through proactive outreach and timely post-event follow-up to maximise engagement and conversion.
  • Use modern sales and prospecting tools including,,, and to identify, research, and engage potential customers.
  • Conduct detailed account research to understand customer pain points, industry trends, and opportunities for strategic engagement.
  • Continuously test, refine, and optimise outbound and inbound outreach strategies to improve conversion rates and overall effectiveness.
  • Share insights and feedback from prospect conversations to help shape messaging, strategy, and go-to-market execution.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, manage pipeline activity effectively, and proactively plan future outreach activity.
  • Invest in your professional growth through ongoing learning, industry research, training sessions, and development opportunities.

Required Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in Sales Development, Business Development, or a similar commercial role within SaaS, technology, or industrial environments.
  • Confidence using modern prospecting tools such as,,,, and other sales engagement platforms to build pipeline and engage prospects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships through phone, email, social media, and virtual conversations.
  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a passion for outbound prospecting, generating opportunities, and driving results.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for technology, AI, manufacturing, and industrial innovation, with a desire to continuously learn and grow.
  • Highly organised, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment across multiple teams and time zones.
  • Fluent in English, with additional language skills in German, French, Spanish, or Italian considered a strong plus.
  • A positive attitude, resilience, and the energy to turn conversations into opportunities and opportunities into long-term customer relationships.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within Energy, Manufacturing, Industrial, or SaaS sectors would be advantageous.
  • Interest and experience within the AI space are highly advantageous
