As Cognite’s customer base continues to grow, so does our need for talented Enterprise Architects. We are looking for Senior Enterprise Architects to work with our global tech sales and field engineering teams.
About Our Team! Our global tech sales team consists of some of the best subject matter experts in the industry. We include top-tier software programmers, data scientists, designers, product managers, enterprise architects, 3D developers, and commercial professionals. Our international team is setting the standard for industrial software by accelerating innovation in data contextualization, advanced visualizations, and machine learning for the process and energy industries.
The Enterprise Architect team currently consists of 11 individuals with diverse backgrounds, all sharing a passion for data, technology, and architecture. This professional group is responsible for enterprise and technical architecture across Cognite’s global projects. We facilitate technical setups, translating requirements and strategies into solution design and governance processes. In short, we set our customers up for success with a solid digital foundation.
About the Role As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you are a key member of our technical sales team, and will work directly with key customers, field sales, delivery, and product development teams on a global scale. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coach and collaborate effectively. You will leverage your seniority and technical competencies to help industrial customers increase productivity, profitability, reduce environmental impact, and reduce costs. Our customers are large international process and energy industries facing challenges in asset performance and maintenance, production efficiency, and sustainability. Together with the team, you will guide the customer, help define solutions and support each integration through to a successful finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end architecture, solution design, and leading teams of technical experts towards successful solution delivery.
  • Provide strategic and technical expertise and support for customers and customer-facing project teams. Offer guidance and develop solutions that enable customers’ business use cases.
  • Define complete enterprise and solution architecture, including integration, data models, and data ingestion pipelines, as well as user-facing solutions.
  • Ensure operational responsibility and support agreements for the delivered solutions.
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives, IT Data Managers, and Business Data Managers, to drive long-term adoption of Cognite’s products and services.
  • Train partners and internal teams in your area of specialization, including the creation of training materials, modeling guidelines, standards, and best practices.
  • Independently manage integration, data modeling, and similar activities using Cognite data connectors and extractors, SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs, and business intelligence tooling.
  • Collaborate with our Engineering and Product Management teams to turn customer needs into a prioritized pipeline of product offerings.
  • Develop and maintain technical and business expertise for Cognite’s products.
  • Define reference architectures and work with software engineers in the internal enablement team.
  • Support pre-sales with technical expertise and ensure a seamless transfer to the delivery phase.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Technology or similar
  • 5-10 years or more relevant experience in similar positions (Enterprise Architecture/Solution Architecture), preferably within one or more of Cognite’s target industry domains (O&G, Manufacturing, P&U), with familiarity with common source systems and data types.
  • Proven ability to connect with and coach technical stakeholders, building credible relationships on various levels of the organization
  • Confidence to negotiate requirements with customers and colleagues, preferably with experience from consulting.
  • Experience with technical topics such as enterprise integration strategies and design, data and analytics stacks, public cloud, identity providers and network security concepts
  • Experience hosting technical sessions with customers and colleagues, including workshops, demos and similar.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD and deployment environments.
  • Development/scripting of integrations and solutions using languages as Python/.NET/, with good understanding of JSON/YAML.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Proficiency in English is a requirement
  • Highly organized, thorough, and excellent communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate, lead, coach, and work independently.
  • Passion for data, technology, and “how things work.”
  • Comfortable and interested in detailed technical design and code behavior.
  • Experience with Oil & Gas, process industries, or manufacturing is beneficial, particularly domain knowledge such as asset performance/integrity management, flow assurance, chemical plants, or production optimization.
  • Travel will be required for customer-facing roles.
  • Ability to travel/internationally and regionally 30-60% of the time
