We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Manager to join our rapidly growing global technology company, as a member of the global People Operations & Rewards team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our US-based employees. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, including payroll and HR vendors, tax compliance, benefits administration, and reporting in accordance with compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US payroll regulations, including different state filing requirements, employee global mobility background, experience with outsourced payroll processing, and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced and working smart environment.
The candidate should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for process improvement. We are looking for a highly organized and results-oriented individual with strong collaboration skills and a desire to contribute to the success of a dynamic, international and innovative company.

What You'll Do

  • Know how to handle all aspects of US payroll processing, including tax compliance, benefits administration, and reporting.
  • Oversee relationships with external payroll providers, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of US payroll compliance laws and regulations.
  • Streamline payroll operations and implement process improvements.
  • Analyze payroll data and trends to identify discrepancies and implement improvements.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Collaborate with external advisors on Global Mobility requirements
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll regulations and best practices.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in US payroll processing, preferably in an international technology company or scale-up environment.
  • Strong understanding of US payroll compliance laws and regulations.
  • Experience with outsourced payroll processing and managing relationships with external providers.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software and HR tech, such as e.g. ADP, Workday, HIBob. Bamboo, Deel
  • Experience with international payroll reporting and employee global mobility requirements.
  • Experience with expatriate and net pay payroll calculations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with international tax and social security treaties, tax residency status, and foreign-earned income exclusion from a payroll reporting perspective is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of global payroll operations are a plus.
