Summary:

We are currently seeking a Systems Cloud Engineer (Production Infrastructure) to join our rapidly expanding team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, coding for scalability, and fostering team collaboration.

A day in the life might look like:

  • Partnering with an Engineering feature teams, to help define the infrastructure that will power their new feature launch.

  • You proactively identify scaling constraints and can successfully solve for growth by partnering with your stakeholders.

  • Mentoring your peers, and sharing your knowledge across the department to level up our understanding and processes.

You may be a fit for this role if:

  • You are a self-starting and self-governing learner and worker who is adept at breaking down intractable problems into achievable pieces and iterating on them.

  • You are curious by nature and love to dig deep on problems, always asking “Why?”.

  • You communicate in a clear and concise manner, regardless of medium (text, voice, and in-person).

  • You have a team-first mentality and will naturally step in to support co-workers when you perceive them to be in difficulty.

What you may have:

  • Experience building and supporting highly available, multi-region production infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, and collaborative code to create tools, services, and systems that support scalable infrastructure is a must have in this role.

  • Experience deploying, securing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters servicing production workloads, with a strong emphasis on automation and observability.

  • Experience administering and optimizing cloud resources on common cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

  • Experience building and administering Debian GNU/Linux hosts using automated image build and configuration management tools.

Serious bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience managing hosts with Puppet.

  • Experience managing AWS resources with Terraform.

  • Experience scripting with BASH.

  • Experience developing with Ruby or GoLang.

  • Experience administering any of: Elasticsearch, Kafka, MySQL, Redis.

The full salary range* for this role is $112,200 to $132,000 to $151,800 CAD.Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
