The Role
The Senior Data Licensing Manager, reporting to our Director of Data Licensing (part of the CCC Ecosystems and Alliances organization), will have the primary function of supporting CCC's data licensing efforts that include, identifying new potential data partners to support our product roadmap, vendor management including supporting day-to-day partner development across our product portfolios and managing vendor escalations, working closely with product management and product development to ensure stability throughout CCC’s products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Director of Data Licensing in managing existing data licensing agreements and vendors and develop performance/relationship management metrics to assess performance as well as ensure they are aligned with our overall corporate strategy
- Partner with our Legal Department on all contract management related issues
- Identify alternate data sources and potential relationships to ensure that we are positioned effectively in the market
- Partner with our Strategy and Product Management Teams to identify the best potential data partners to build and support our portfolio of products and services.
- Effectively forecast, plan and manage vendor renewals to ensure minimal service disruptions
- Work collaboratively with our FP&A team is ensuring vendor accounts are current, forecasting product costs and contributing to the management of our product costs budget.
Requirements:
Experience/Educational:
- Foundational understanding of the impact that data has in the B2B enterprise software business
- 7-10 years of licensing and sourcing experience, preferably in a B2B software or Technology company that relies on multiple external data sources
- Deep domain contracting experience
- Knowledge of technology / software industry & trends, and experience in other sectors where licensing is prevalent (e.g., automotive, insurance, medical - related, telecommunications)
- Undergraduate degree is beneficial
Competencies and abilities:
- Deep domain experience managing and negotiating data licensing agreements
- Establishing KPIs to be able to assess 3rd party data partnerships
- Strong working knowledge of relevant licensing concepts and contract terms
- Ability to assess and mitigate risk from a company, project, business, financial and contractual perspective, including a working knowledge of legal terms and conditions, long-term impacts of various business terms and conditions
- Demonstrable experience in creating vendor/partner relationships that made the environment more cost effective as well as structurally diverse.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with multiple internal and vendor stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Previous experience partnering with Strategy and Product Teams on new product creation is a plus
