The Role

The Technical Accounting Lead will serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and will be responsible for accurate financial reporting. This role is ideal for a CPA with 3–4 years of public accounting experience who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys technical research, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting & Research
    • Perform in-depth technical accounting research and prepare position papers on complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, equity/debt arrangements, software capitalization).
    • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on the company’s financial statements.
    • Responsible for implementation of new accounting pronouncements, where applicable.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, including disclosures in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
    • Support SEC reporting requirements
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis and prepare schedules related to ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements.
    • Assist in preparing internal monthly financial reporting.
  • Policy & Compliance
    • Maintain and enhance internal controls related to technical accounting areas.
    • Partner with auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
    • Assist in SOX internal control optimization and improvements, particularly as related to technical accounting and financial reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with FP&A, Tax, and Revenue Operations teams to ensure proper accounting treatment for new initiatives.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement automation for accounting processes.


Requirements:

  • CPA designation required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3–4 years of public accounting experience, ideally with exposure to technical accounting, public company reporting and internal controls.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
