The Role

Key Responsibilities:

Sr. QA Engineers for Chicago, IL location. Independently prepare and test complex software applications, including manual, performance, automation testing. Analyze, test and assist with the integration of new applications and ensure the documentation of testing activity. Create, maintain and execute software test automation testing scripts and automation framework from scratch, develop scripts using existing frameworks, and collaborate with software engineering to resolve problems and identify root causes of product defects. Set scope and strategy for test plans, review functional specifications and create progress reports on projects. Prepare, execute and review test plans, scripts and all other related project testing documentation. Create test plans, test strategies, traceability matrix and identify test coverage. Identify and create processes and tools that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the test development activities across the team. Mentor junior engineers. Technical environment: Agile methodology, TDD/BDD methods, Python, Perl, Robot Framework, DHC, Hudson, GIT, Behave, Cucumber, SQL Server, My SQL, Rest Client, Junit, Selenium, QTP, Test Complete, RFT, JavaScript, JAVA, J2EE; Shell scripting, VB Script, Kanban, Oracle DB; querying relational DBs using SQL, XML, HTML, VMWare; risk based testing, regression testing, data driven test automation, version control, cloud-based micro-services architectures; Pentaho.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering/Information Technology/Systems/Applications or any Engineering field plus 5 years of progressive experience in Software Quality Engineering Testing or as a Software Tester required. Required Skills: software test experience including manual, performance, automation testing; hands on experience creating testing scripts and automation framework from scratch or developing scripts using existing framework, and for cloud-based micro-services architectures; Junit, Selenium, VB Script, Python, Java, Oracle DB, J2EE; SQL scripting; XML, HTML, VMWare.
