Responsibilities

The Workplace Design team works alongside Space Process & Experience within Workplace Design Solutions. The team establishes and evolves Workplace Design Standards aligned with ByteDance’s culture and brand, while responding to regional needs. It is responsible for the creation and coordination of technical drawing standards, defines how we use our spaces, and brings together quantitative and qualitative insights to create purposeful, logical environments that reflect our culture and ways of working. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early. - Support the global workplace design team in shaping workplace standards across the global portfolio, helping create environments that support focus, collaboration, wellbeing, and operational efficiency. - Help translate workplace design and strategy ideas into clear visual, spatial, and presentation outputs by preparing design materials, research, and documentation that support planning and decision-making. - Learn how workplace design and design strategy can influence business performance, employee experience, and flexibility through close collaboration with the team and active involvement in live projects. - Build strong visual storytelling and visualisation skills through hands-on project work, regular feedback, and day-to-day exposure to a fast-paced technology-driven environment. - Produce technical 2D drawings, small scale 3D models, and design diagrams to communicate workplace guidelines and design ideas effectively. - Assist in creating zoning diagrams, layouts, and technical drawing packages to support guidelines development and team communication. - Help prepare documentation that supports quality, clarity, efficient delivery, and consistency across regions. - Ensure drawings, models, and documents are accurate and organised. - Support the development of workplace design tools, systems, and documentation that help guide planning, decision-making, and consistency across projects. - Prepare sketches, quick renderings, diagrams, and visual presentations to communicate design ideas clearly and effectively. - Support the creation of design decks, visual narratives, and presentation materials for internal review and stakeholder discussions. - Contribute to the graphic communication of workplace concepts, planning strategies, and user experience ideas. - Support the development and application of workplace identity, ensuring spatial expression, wayfinding, and environmental graphics reflect organizational brand and culture. - Work closely with internal team members and support coordination with external consultants where needed. - Participate in design discussions, weekly team meetings, reviews and feedback sessions. - Take guidance from team members and apply feedback constructively to improve design outputs and technical skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s) - Currently studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree - Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit) is essential - Advanced visualisation skills, with the ability to create high-quality sketches, renderings, diagrams, and presentation visuals - Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for producing design presentations, visual narratives, and environmental graphics such as signage and wayfinding Preferred Qualification(s) - A portfolio that demonstrates design thinking, technical ability, and visual communication skills - Willingness to learn, develop, and grow in a collaborative professional environment If you have any questions, please reach out to us at apac-earlycareers@bytedance.com
