Responsibilities
About the team The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions -- including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on all of ByteDance's various products and services including TikTok, TikTok Shop and CapCut. Responsibilities: - AML/CTF Risk Assessment: - Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive AML/CTF risk assessment methodology that aligns with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. - Oversee the execution of periodic and targeted risk assessments to identify, analyze, and evaluate money laundering and terrorist financing risks across the organization, including new products, services, and geographies. - Develop and present risk assessment findings, including identification of key risks, vulnerabilities, and recommended mitigation strategies, to senior management and relevant committees. - Ensure the risk assessment informs the development and enhancement of AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls. - Stay abreast of evolving AML/CTF risks, typologies, and regulatory guidance to ensure the risk assessment framework remains current and effective. - Global Payments Compliance AML Governance Program and Training Program: - Oversee the development and implementation of financial crimes compliance dashboard to measure AML and sanctions KPIs and KRIs. - Conduct trend analysis to identify emerging compliance framework weaknesses and issues prior to regulatory or third line of defense intervention. - Present findings and observations to senior stakeholders within Global Payments, Legal and Technology. - Oversee the development, implementation, and delivery of a comprehensive and engaging Global Payments Compliance AML training program for relevant employees. - Ensure training content is tailored to specific roles and responsibilities, reflects current regulatory requirements, and addresses identified risks within the global payments landscape. - Establish processes for tracking training completion, assessing training effectiveness, and implementing necessary enhancements. - Collaborate with subject matter experts and learning and development teams to design and deliver training through various modalities (e.g., e-learning, in-person sessions, job aids). - Maintain accurate training records and provide regular reports on training activities to senior management. - Leadership and Oversight: - Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the financial crimes compliance team. - Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including Legal, Operations, Technology, and Business Units. - Monitor and analyze relevant AML/CTF regulations, enforcement actions, and industry trends to identify potential impacts on the company's compliance program. - Contribute to the development and implementation of AML/CTF policies, procedures, and internal controls. - Act as Global Payments point of contact to support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations related to AML/CTF compliance. - Assist in the investigation of potential AML/CTF violations and the development of remediation plans. - Prepare and present reports on AML/CTF compliance activities to senior management and relevant committees.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - In-depth knowledge of AML/CTF laws, regulations, and guidance, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and relevant international standards (e.g., FATF recommendations). - Proven experience in developing and implementing AML/CTF risk assessment methodologies and conducting risk assessments across diverse business lines and geographies. - Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and delivering effective AML training programs, particularly within the context of global payments. - Strong understanding of global payment systems, including SWIFT, ACH, and other payment rails, and associated AML/CTF risks. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences. - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CFE) preferred. - 5+ years of progressive experience in financial crimes compliance, with a strong focus on AML/CTF risk assessment and global payments. - Experience working with AML compliance technology solutions. - Familiarity with regulatory expectations in the financial services industry. - Experience interacting with regulatory agencies.
