Job Description
Reporting Manager: Head of Sync & Licensing
We are seeking a highly motivated Sync & Licensing Specialist to assist the Sync & Licensing team across administrative, creative, and client-facing functions. This role requires a strong music instinct, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
You will support catalogue management, creative pitching, marketing material creation, drafting licensing agreements, invoicing, and financial tracking. In addition, you will manage your own direct client relationships across Film, TV, and Advertising, while proactively identifying and securing sync opportunities for Believe’s catalogue.
This role is ideal for someone who has a genuine music mindset someone who can hear a brief, interpret it creatively, and instinctively match the right music to the right moment.
Responsibilities:
Assisting and reporting to the Head of Sync & Licensing, you will work on general day-to-day administrative and creative tasks, including:
• Issuing licensing agreements and invoicing paperwork directly to clients, ensuring timely completion, payment tracking, and accurate reporting.
• Maintaining and updating Believe’s online catalogue library for international sync teams, ensuring correct tagging, metadata accuracy, and asset organization.
• Building and maintaining curated themed playlists, catalogue selections, and highlighting new releases for pitching purposes.
• Designing and executing email mailouts and promotional material for client outreach.
• Assisting with pitching to briefs, conducting track searches, and suggesting music based on creative interpretation of client requirements.
• Providing administrative and creative support to the worldwide sync team.
• Maintaining client mailing lists and managing contact databases efficiently.
• Managing multiple priorities effectively while meeting both short-term deliverables and long-term team targets.
Independent Client & Creative Responsibilities:
You will also manage your own client portfolio and proactive sync initiatives, including:
• Building and maintaining a personal roster of clients within Film, TV, and Advertising.
• Developing strong, long-term client relationships through professional communication and proactive engagement.
• Identifying and onboarding new clients and creating opportunities to pitch Believe’s catalogue.
• Handling smaller licensing requests including film festival screenings, charity uses, and independent productions.
• Identifying emerging sync opportunities in the market and ensuring Believe’s catalogue is actively represented.
• Meeting clients outside the office when required, including industry events, gigs, showcases, and networking forums.
• Interpreting creative briefs confidently and suggesting musically relevant, emotionally appropriate, and strategically aligned tracks.
• Demonstrating the ability to work under pressure, especially during tight campaign timelines and high-volume pitching periods.
Required Skills:
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in music, sync, licensing, or a related music business function.
• Strong knowledge of and passion for independent music.
• A creative ear with the ability to analyze briefs and translate them into strong, relevant music suggestions.
• Basic knowledge of music licensing structures, including master and publishing rights in sync.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in client conversations via phone and email is essential.
• Strong relationship management skills and ability to handle client expectations professionally.
• Highly organized and process-driven
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations, tight deadlines, and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
• A proactive, self-starter mindset with ownership-driven work ethic.
Good to have:
• Specifically interested in building a long-term career in Sync.
• Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
• Photoshop skills are preferred but not mandatory.
• Existing industry network is a plus but not essential.
Qualifications
- Graduation or Post Graduation in Music, Business or similar field
