Job Description
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth and supporting the team in a dynamic, technology-driven, and rapidly evolving environment with changing processes and policies.
Leveraging your deep understanding of our products, client needs, and the music market, combined with a strong customer success strategy, you will be responsible for achieving revenue targets and managing a portfolio of artists. This position reports directly to the Senior Business Development Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire and Develop New Partnerships: Source, attract, and sign new partners, including artists and labels.
- Lead Identification and Conversion: Identify high-potential prospects and successfully convert them into clients.
- Contribute to Sales Strategy: Support the implementation of the local sales strategy in collaboration with the Business Development Leader.
- Build a Robust Pipeline: Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective artists and labels.
- Negotiate Deals: Engage in contract negotiations with leads, ensuring alignment with:
- Established business rules
- Local market complexities
- Client-specific requirements
- Adapt to Market Innovations: Stay ahead of service innovations and adapt to increasing deal complexity.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize tools and dashboards to track and optimize performance.
- Client Transition: Ensure smooth handover to the account management team for ongoing client support.
Required Skills & Expertise
Business Skills:
- Proven expertise in closing deals and achieving sales targets
- Strong understanding of the music industry ecosystem
- Proficiency in CRM tools, especially Salesforce
- Familiarity with CLM systems such as iCertis
- Comprehensive knowledge of company products and offerings
Soft Skills:
- Results-oriented and highly motivated
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Passionate about music, technology, and data
- Persistent and resilient with a proactive approach
- Demonstrated success in client servicing
- Deep understanding of the independent artist landscape
- Established network within the music industry, preferably with experience in distribution
