We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Technical Accounting to assist with leading our revenue accounting function and acting as a technical accounting resource. This role will also ensure accurate and compliant GAAP revenue recognition across global operations. As part of this role, you will research and analyze complex accounting matters, play an integral role in supporting the accounting organization in drafting new and existing accounting policies, and act as the expert in foreign currency accounting considerations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with overseeing the entire revenue cycle, including deferred revenues, recognized revenues, reserves, bad debt analysis, system reconciliations, ASC 606 Revenue Reporting, and management reporting.
    • Oversee the review and analysis of the daily billing runs
    • Oversee the revenue cycle-related monthly close procedures, processes, and steps
  • Oversee revenue by legal entity and reporting jurisdictions.
  • Oversee revenue by product and geography.
  • Ensure international revenue reporting compliance.
  • Perform technical accounting research and analysis for new accounting guidance and new or existing business transactions and processes. Document, implement, and communicate conclusions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with direct communication with external auditors regarding complex accounting areas
  • Assist in the Reporting process by drafting and reviewing Annual Audit reports.
  • Initiate, improve, and create efficiencies in systems and procedures.
  • Foster an environment of high-quality work, team collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Review foreign currency system configuration and output related to cumulative translation adjustment, realized and unrealized foreign currency gains/losses.
  • Provide FX guidance for new businesses, system launches, scenarios to the accounting and operational teams.
  • Act as a lead for the ERP integration project focused on revenue recognition and data migration.
  • Develop FX accounting requirements to operationalize complex FX accounting concepts.
  • Ability to perform GAAP research to assess FX accounting implications.
  • Articulate and provide clarification on FX accounting requirements to non-accounting business stakeholders.
  • Escalate risks and issues to leadership when necessary.
  • Support month-end close and financial reporting processes as required.
  • Other special projects and accounting-related duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical accounting role for a global organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Highly technical and analytical CPA with audit background and experience dealing with technical accounting matters.
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
  • Proven experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and revenue cycle skills in a SAAS environment.
  • Experience with multi-entity, international general ledgers, and ERP systems.
  • Experience in a large, preferably public, finance department.
  • Understanding of databases and file management systems.
  • Report writing skills are essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills (advanced filtering, vlookup, pivot tables).
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP Software.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with various operating departments and FP&A.
  • Proven experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Trustworthiness and high level of confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Zuora subscription management software.
  • Experience with EPM tools.
  • Experience with OneStream financial close and consolidation.
  • CPA or international equivalent.
