The team

Logistics is at the heart of Ankorstore's unique value proposition. Logistics and its daily execution is critical and often not well mastered enough by both retailers and brands. Independent retailers do not enjoy convenience and good services linked to supply Chain/logistics (speed, reliability of deliveries, restocking, inventory management,...) whilst Brands report juggling various operational activities and fail at optimizing costs. This leaves space for a state of the art Logistics proposition carried by Ankorstore to solve this problem, bring services & economy of scales to this ecosystem, set new standards within the B2B industry whilst generating operational margin for Ankorstore.

From an operational standpoint, we aim at helping brands ship their orders seamlessly by partnering with the most relevant logistics partners. We help retailers with outstanding delivery experience, fast and reliable resolution experience when issue occurs and smart inventory management services.

This is a unique opportunity to have a meaningful impact on our customers and to get a 360 view of the e-commerce BtoB supply chain (transportation, fulfillment, cross-border shipping).

Our logistics services are made of two main products:

  • A direct shipping service powered by Ankorstore’s partner carriers, with label generation, pick-up and delivery on an order per order basis

  • And integrated Fulfilment service for our best brands, where we handle inbound, storage, order preparation and outbound shipping flows from our Fulfilment Center.

Main responsibilities

Working under the supervision of the Director of Operations, responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Operations Execution department: you will manage a department of ~10 people directly in charge of the daily execution of our logistics flows for our two offers (direct shipping and fulfilment): carrier manager, 3PL manager, inventory managers, etc. You will define their targets, monitor their performance, monitor their bandwidth and workload.

  • Animate operational rituals: you will animate daily business reviews, ensuring the good operational execution of our flows and dealing with alerts, and weekly business reviews to report on performance and action plans. You will make sure that your team has the right control of the flows, and is able to take Quick Response actions to ensure smooth operations as well as Quality Control measures to solve recurrent pains and continuously improve our processes.

  • Own the execution quality metrics: you will be the owner of our operational quality (OTIF), ranging from daily / weekly drumbeat to executive reporting and action plan definition & delivery upon quantitative targets.

  • Supervise Carrier Management activities: you will establish carriers sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and execute contracts. You will be the point of escalation of carrier / 3PL manager regarding most 3PL contractual / performance / negotiation / partnership topics.

  • Own operational P&L: you will drive solution designs to reach transportation costs and revenues targets and have a long term vision leading our operational P&L towards meeting yearly and quarterly goals. You will own transportation pricing in consistency with AKS overall strategy. You will own cost performance tracking and track progress by pulling / analysing large data sets to derive actionable opportunities.

  • Develop and implement wider-range projects, including but not limited to:

    • Identify the biggest opportunities to improve the transportation network costs, balancing costs with delivery accuracy, quality and speed,

    • Drive and support large scale transportation programs, such as rolling out new transportation solutions per geography,

    • Work with Product & Tech teams to build and deploy a reliable estimated / promised delivery date concept on the marketplace, by defining the detailed needs and monitoring the roll-out.

Requirements

  • 4-8+ Years of Supply Chain / Transportation related to operational experience, used to work in close contact with 3PLs / carriers,

  • Brings a department and company-wide perspective to decision making,

  • Strong business acumen : understands how to calculate high-level ROI and partner with finance to complete a cost-benefit analysis,

  • Anticipates, identifies and drives resolution of technical challenges and interdependencies to prevent downstream problems,

  • Has a deep understanding of the business’ and end user’s needs, and can proficiently translate those needs into the right solution,

  • Proven analytical thinking with a natural tendency to use data in decision-making and prioritization,

  • Experience in prioritizing multiple concurrent projects while still delivering timely and accurate results,

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written,

  • Fluency in French and English.

Other skills that would add value:

  • Expertise in fulfillment software management (OMS, TMS, WMS, APS),

  • Knowledge of SQL and coding basics.
