Role Description

We are looking for a motivated people person, with a keen eye of detail. Working in a Payments team is a fast-moving role, and the ideal candidate should feel comfortable in a busy environment where they can make a difference to a team throughout the day, grow and learn within the team.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To key inbound and outbound payments for the bank this includes- Customer Payments, Invoice payments, Refunds, etc

  • You’ll be responsible for making payments, dealing with payment queries. Engaging with Customer Support, Credit Operations, Asset Finance or Relationship Managers

  • To proactively identify areas for process improvement and to seek new and innovative ways to better serve way of working

  • Work amongst the Payment Operations team to deliver a seamless service for both internal and external customers

  • Ensure Annual Mandatory Training and all other required training is scheduled and met personally and across the team.

  • To live and breathe the Banks core values

Personal attributes & Experience

  • Previous experience in Payments (inbound and outbound payments)

  • Experience in financial services

  • Experience using core banking systems

  • Experience in dealing with complex payment queries.

  • Experience of core processes (e.g., payments processing, complaints, reconciliation, Direct debit management, general payment queries)

  • Experience in working with workflow / task management tools

  • Knowledge of financial services rules and guidelines

  • Enthusiastic and articulate, whilst being motivated by a need to help people

  • Organisational and good time management skills

  • Act as an ambassador/advocate for Customer within the Bank

  • Adhere to quality control requirements and ensure compliance with policy
