About Allica Bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (Fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in Fintech.

Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers.

Department Description

We are a small but mighty team responsible for telling Allica’s story to build trust, drive growth and bring our product and purpose to life for our key audiences: established business owners, brokers and accountants. Our team looks after brand marketing, communications, partnerships and includes our in house creative studio.

Role Description

Business owners don’t have time for waffle. They want clear, simple communication that helps them get on with running their business. That’s why strong, thoughtful copy matters – and why this role is such an exciting opportunity.

As Allica’s Copywriter, you’ll be part of our in-house creative studio, supporting the Copy & Content Specialist to deliver sharp, on-brand copy across every channel. You’ll take on the day-to-day content writing that keeps the business moving: from web pages and emails, to brochures, blogs and social posts – with a particular focus on medium- to long-form content.

But this role isn’t just about writing what’s in front of you. You’ll help improve how the whole business creates content – using AI to speed things up, build better first drafts and support self-service, while still applying your own judgement, expertise and craft to produce high-quality outputs. AI won’t be writing everything. You’ll remain a hands-on writer, using your skills to elevate, critique and refine whatever comes through the studio.

If you love turning complex ideas into simple stories, and you enjoy being the person who makes writing feel easy for everyone else, this role is for you.

Principal Accountabilities

Deliver high-quality copy across the business

  • Execute copy requests from teams across Allica, ensuring everything – whether an email, web page, brochure or social post – is clear, on-brand and in our assured, approachable and no-nonsense tone of voice.

  • Act as a tone of voice guardian, keeping our language consistent, simple and easy to understand.

Be the go-to for long-form and storytelling content

  • Own the production of longer content pieces such as blogs, emails, insight articles and explainers.

  • Understand complex concepts and turn them into clear, structured and engaging narratives that make sense to readers.

  • Bring storytelling craft to product, brand and customer-focused content.

Use AI as a tool – not a substitute – for great writing

  • Use AI confidently to support drafting, research and efficiencies, while still applying your own writing skills to produce the final output.

  • Review, refine and challenge AI-generated content – ensuring quality, clarity and on-brand tone.

  • Create prompts, workflows and simple tools that help teams produce better drafts when self-serving.

  • Help colleagues understand how to use AI safely and effectively, without replacing craft or judgement.

Support creative and GTM delivery

  • Work closely with the Copy & Content Specialist on go-to-market rollouts, product messaging and campaign support.

  • Help increase the studio’s creative capacity and reduce bottlenecks across the team.

Champion efficiency and self-service

  • Build and improve templates, guides and processes that make writing easier for everyone at Allica.

  • Spot opportunities to streamline how content is requested, drafted and delivered.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Experience writing clear, concise copy for multiple formats (emails, web pages, blogs, social, brochures and more).

  • Strong long-form writing skills, with the ability to understand complex topics and turn them into simple, engaging content.

  • A natural storyteller who can shape ideas, not just write to a tight brief.

  • Excellent grammar, attention to detail and a love of straightforward, jargon-free language.

  • Confident using AI as a supportive tool – able to critique and improve outputs rather than rely on them.

  • Comfortable building prompts, templates or workflows that support good self-service copywriting.

  • Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple requests and manage deadlines.

  • A collaborative way of working – open to feedback, confident asking questions and comfortable partnering with designers, marketers and product teams.

  • Curious, proactive and motivated to help build a more efficient copy function across the business.
