Role Description

An experienced Platform Engineer is required to join a fast-paced Platform Engineering Team to enhance and support the cloud platform capabilities within Allica Bank. This offshore role is embedded within a high-paced, agile team environment.

As the Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting product teams in creating stable, secure, and scalable platforms for their software to run on. Your commitment to continuous improvement will contribute to the broader strategy of advancing the bank’s technical platforms.

Allica's Platform team adheres strictly to best-in-class methodologies such as Infrastructure as Code, utilizing Terraform and Azure DevOps to implement declarative infrastructure. This role mandates the use of these technologies to deploy and maintain cloud-native systems, ensuring the use of the latest advancements in cloud platform management.

Expertise in Azure is essential, and familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) would be beneficial. The Platform Engineer role is highly focused on service delivery and will involve liaising with multiple teams across the bank to help deliver optimal solutions. This position is remote-based.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Working with Platform Engineering Team to design, deliver and maintain cloud native solutions.
  • Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
  • Write and update scripts.
  • Improve site reliability through monitoring and alerting, to help expand the banks observability and monitoring platform.
  • Document and maintain solutions demonstrating ownership end-to-end of the project lifecycle

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Experience in Azure (PaaS, IaaS, Networking knowledge beneficial)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps - YAML CI/CD pipelines / Templating
  • Strong scripting experience for Infrastructure-as-Code – Terraform / Ansible
  • Scripting abilities in Bash/PowerShell
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Communication and problem-solving skills
  • A solid understanding of Linux based systems is beneficial
  • Thirst to learn new technologies and skills, be passionate about tech.
