Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee and develop the operational capability of our organisation.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing the day-to-day operations of a small to medium organisation. Including but not limited to, financial budgeting and reporting, implementing processes and policies, compliance with regulatory requirements, overseeing HR operations and developing exceptional talent through culture and innovative leadership.
The role requires strong leadership skills, expert knowledge of Indian regulatory requirements and solid experience in financial planning and budgeting.
Principal Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the formulation and execution of the company’s objectives aligned with the Group’s vision and values.
- Identify and execute opportunities within India to effectively support Allica’s cross-functional growth, ensuring a strong relationship with UK colleagues
- Foster a culture of belongingness, innovation and operational excellence throughout the organisation
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations to ensure the smooth functioning of the Indian entity.
- Implement and monitor processes for driving operational efficiency.
- Navigate and respond to operational challenges that impact our growing business.
Financial Performance:
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Work with finance and HR teams to ensure smooth running of payroll.
- Utilise data, analytics and reporting to evaluate and monitor the financial performance of the entity.
Regulatory and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations in India.
- Keep up to date with the changes in regulatory requirements and implement necessary internal policies to remain compliant with regulations.
- Work with stakeholders to resolve any critical regulatory problems impacting the business.
People:
- Ensure Allica India is a positive and engaging workplace for colleagues, with high connectivity to UK colleagues and successes.
- Support HR and local line managers with any required people activities including performance management and disciplinary.
- Lead the locational talent strategy to support the business needs.
- Attract, retain and develop high performing and engaged teams.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment of growth strategies and operational processes.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across the Group to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the different functional teams across Group entities
- Manage our relationship and ensure strong commercially focused delivery from 3rd party providers with support our India entity
Personal Attributes & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in leading and building high-performing, remote, multi-locational teams, increasing operational excellences and driving systems capability.
- Demonstrable experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting and reporting for a small to medium organisation.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements in the entity location.
- Proven ability in driving change and operational efficiencies.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to thrive and succeed in fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to work in matrixed environment using experience, knowledge and gravitas to influence and make decisions.
- Experience in managing, leading and developing full remote teams
- Strong knowledge or local employment practices and law.
