About Allica bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in fintech. Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers

Department Description

We have grown rapidly and won multiple awards , and you will be playing a key role as we continue to build a bank dedicated to established SMEs, at what is a crucial time for them. We believe that freedom, autonomy, and trust bring the best out of people, so we work with team-players who get the importance of owning their responsibilities but know the value of collaboration. We are curious, honest, and supportive.

The Finance & Treasury function covers a broad spectrum of financial responsibilities for the Bank. Under the leadership of the CFO and the finance department heads, the team is responsible for equity raising and investor relations; treasury and liquidity management; prudential risk and regulatory reporting; and financial reporting, financial planning, and tax management activities.

Role Description

As a new, tech driven bank, efficiency is paramount for Allica. Our mission within the finance and treasury teams is to build a world class operating model enabling colleagues to focus on analysis and decision making rather than data production. The purpose of this role is to support the transformation and product roadmap for finance, playing a pivotal role in driving forward change, innovation and improvements in our processes in order to support the rapid growth of the Bank.

The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to understand their requirements, translating them into actionable acceptance criteria for the product squad. You will be involved in liaising with product teams to incorporate new products, business lines, and acquisitions, and perform general product management duties. In addition, there will be significant data analysis to ensure that initiatives are successful.

  • Translate these problems into actionable acceptance criteria for the product squad, ensuring there is clear communication and understanding
  • Liaise with product teams to understand new products, business lines, and acquisitions with successful integration into existing and new finance systems
  • Support and eventually run transformation initiatives in finance, driving forward change, innovation, and improvements in processes. As well as contributing to the finance product road map
  • Conduct effective data analysis using SQL to support decision-making and drive improvements
  • Communicate effectively across different stakeholder groups, including finance, operations, and product teams. Ensuring consistent alignment on objectives, progress updates, and the impact of implemented changes
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and deliver successful change projects within the finance department through regular training sessions, workshops, and by promoting the adoption of best practice

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Financial Accounting Knowledge: Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
  • Data Analysis: Proficient in SQL for data analysis and reporting
  • Financial Services Experience: Previous experience in financial services
  • Agile Environment: Familiarity with working in an agile, fast-paced environment
  • Self-Improvement: Strong interest in continuous self-improvement and adapting to change
