The Finance & Treasury function covers a broad spectrum of financial responsibilities for the Bank. Under the leadership of the CFO and the finance department heads, the team is responsible for equity raising and investor relations; treasury and liquidity management; prudential risk and regulatory reporting; and financial reporting, financial planning, and tax management activities.

Role Description

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the FP&A team in a rare role in industry. The individual with support from the Head of FP&A and the CFO will play a crucial role in driving through cost optimisation, operational efficiency and enhanced productivity in a high growth environment. Working with all parts of the company, particularly operations and distribution, you will help them identify their cost drivers and work with them as a partner to achieve their efficiency objectives.

Principal Accountabilities

A finance professional with a proactive approach to drive costs optimisation and efficiencies within an organisation.

Costs Strategy Alignment

  • Business Goals: Alignment of cost management strategies with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Establish a consistent framework for managing costs across the organisation including activity based cost management and unit economics
  • Improve the bank’s understanding of the relationship between volume, fixed costs and variable costs
  • Understanding Cost to Value relationships; Ensure alignment between cost reduction efforts and the value they bring. Consider not only the immediate cost savings but also the long-term impact on business outcomes.
  • External analysis including peer benchmarking

Costs analysis and Reporting

  • Actively seeking out cost-saving opportunities through data analysis to identify trends/ opportunities
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis to evaluate risks & opportunities and to support scenario modelling
  • Track key performance indicators/ metrics including unit cost economics

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Annual Budget
  • Frequent forecasting
  • Stress Testing
  • Investor model updates and due diligence

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or highly experienced Finance professional
  • Experience within Finance/ FP&A
  • Demonstrable experience in achieving cost and efficiency savings in high growth organisation
  • Experience of using activity based cost management techniques
  • Strong analytical skillset, including the utilisation of Data and reporting tools
  • Strong quantitative abilities and excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships
  • Ability to work autonomously and be initiative-taking as required whilst working well within a team
  • Able to solve complex problems
  • Kaizen Mindset: Embrace continuous improvement principles
  • Strong influencing and people skills
