Department Description

The Compliance team is expanding, and you will be part of a core team responsible for successfully delivering second line of defence capability within the bank. Role Description

As a Compliance Manager at Allica bank, your role will be critical in maintaining the bank’s reputation and ensuring a strong Compliance culture within the organisation. You will use relationship building and communication skills to effectively carry out compliance activities, helping to ensure the bank meets its regulatory requirements. We will also be looking to you to support the overall strategic direction of the business and always make a significant contribution to the bank’s commercial success, whilst promoting the company’s values.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging risks that may impact the bank’s operations. Conduct Horizon Scanning to assess the potential impact and recommend necessary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the Gifts and Hospitality register, ensuring transparency and compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage the timely and accurate submission of FCA regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with reporting obligations set by the regulators.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving Financial Promotions to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and accurately represent the bank’s products and services.
  • Involvement in preparing documentation and reports for relevant Committees within the bank.
  • Perform case-sampling and reviews for third-party platforms/suppliers to ensure compliance with policies and industry standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for bank-wide colleagues on compliance related topics to enhance their understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Oversee the development, review and updating of compliance policies ensuring they are aligned with the latest regulatory developments.
  • Support the Compliance Monitoring Manager in information gathering for Regulatory Reviews.
  • Be prepared to handle ad hoc compliance tasks as directed by the Compliance Oversight Manager, addressing urgent or unforeseen compliance issues that may arise.
  • Influence the culture within the business, to deliver fair treatment of customers and good customer outcomes.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Significant level of relevant experience working within a FinTech digital bank, UK bank or regulatory body.
  • A deep technical understanding of UK banking regulations.
  • In depth knowledge of FCA requirements and regulatory control.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex regulation into business requirements.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively and effectively with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Experience and comfort working in an ever-changing industry and the flexibility to react to changing demands.
  • A good track record of being able to demonstrate you take a strategic approach to managing risk and prioritising work.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to influence the culture within the business, to develop consistently fair treatment of customers.
