Purpose of Role

As Data Quality Analyst at Allica Bank, you will play a key role in supporting the improvement of our product data quality. Your focus will be on helping find and fix data quality problems from different sources, such as our data warehouse, databases, spreadsheets, and files. You will work proactively to monitor, measure, analyze, execute, track, and report on data quality issues with guidance from colleagues. Your work will ensure that data for our products, like commercial mortgages and asset finance, is always accurate and reliable. You will also investigate the causes of the problems and identify effective solutions to improve data quality and change data into useful formats.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Assist in identifying and addressing data quality issues within lending data sources.
  • Support root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons for data quality issues.
  • Help convert data from various sources into structured formats for ingestion into databases or other systems.
  • Collaborate with lending teams and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure that data quality meets business needs.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking data quality metrics, and report findings to management.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance data quality processes and tools.
  • Help document data quality procedures and best practices for knowledge sharing and training purposes.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Interest in the financial services industry or a related field, with a willingness to learn about lending products and processes.
  • Desire to learn SQL and implement in extracting data to test for quality against source.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about industry-standard data quality toolsets for validation and remediation purposes.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and a passion for driving continuous improvement in data quality across the bank.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well with different stakeholders.
