About Allica Bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in fintech. Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers

About Growth Finance

Having already achieved significant success in the commercial mortgage and asset finance markets, Allica is about to launch an innovative new Growth Finance product which will deliver working capital funding with facility sizes between £1m-£10m.

Growth Finance is the first differentiated lending product that Allica has launched, and we believe will complement the excellent reputation that we have already gained. We are building a team of specialists who will be instrumental in bringing the product to life alongside colleagues in other functional areas of the bank.

Role Description

You will be responsible for contributing to the generation of Growth Finance opportunities to meet, and ideally exceed, forecast portfolio assets and income/returns. As well as growing the portfolio, it is important that we manage risk within the bank’s appetite. You will be responsible for ensuring that new business opportunities are properly assessed and the risks and mitigates pertaining to each deal are identified and articulated in the credit submission.

This role will also have responsibility for development and maintenance of a portfolio of professional introducers as well as profile of the bank in their respective regions.

What You'll Do

  • Based on individual target, contribute to the delivery of the new business volume and income plan for Growth Finance.
  • Ensuring that all relevant information, risks and mitigates are considered when presenting opportunities for consideration.
  • Developing and maintaining the introducer base, expected to be corporate finance and debt advisory professionals in addition to selected specialist brokers.
  • Collaboration with other team members, both within Growth Finance and the wider bank. Of particular importance will be ensuring a cohesive approach for the whole bank in regional markets.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with all areas of Allica to ensure a seamless and professional service is always provided, and to provide ongoing direction as to where Allica’s product and software development should focus to provide greatest benefit to customers and efficiency over time.
  • Be an advocate for the product with colleagues throughout the bank.
  • Complying with all mandatory policies and develop and adhere to operational procedures to maintain a strong internal control environment.

What You'll Bring

  • A belief that there is an opportunity to build a significantly improved working capital lending solution to the target mid-market and a desire to innovate through a hands-on approach, working as part of a small team.
  • Initiative and resilience will be key personal attributes.
  • A deep, established understanding of working capital financing in the SME sector.
  • Knowledge of facility structuring and documentation.
  • An established network of potential introducers in the Debt Advisory/Corporate Finance community.
  • Able to interpret detailed financial information including balance sheet and cash forecasting, assess funding requirements and model the impact of sensitivities to such forecasts.
  • Experience of assessing and monitoring a broad range of collateral classes including receivables, inventory, real estate and other fixed assets. Knowledge of the risks, mitigates and controls that apply to each and escalation steps which can be taken to increase control over these assets in the event of deterioration of client risk.
  • You understand the operational aspects of business finance, including receivables and Asset Based Lending with an ability to articulate the relevant risk considerations.
  • You’re a natural stakeholder manager with a long-term track record of building high-value, trust-based relationships.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills together with evidence of strong career progression and outperformance.
  • You’ll be able to evidence an ability to work expertly with customers, colleagues and advisors to assist with structuring new lending proposals, responding to changes in customer requirements and write credit applications that inform and enable balanced decision making.

Desirable:

  • Experience of assessing and monitoring a broad range of collateral classes including receivables, inventory, real estate and other fixed assets. Knowledge of the risks, mitigates and controls that apply to each and escalation steps which can be taken to increase control over these assets in the event of deterioration of client risk.
  • You understand the operational aspects of business finance, including receivables and Asset Based Lending with an ability to articulate the relevant risk considerations.
