What you’ll do & Who you are
Transactions (Payment & Shipping) is a key enabler for Kleinanzeigen to scale the business and bring convenience and safety to our end-users. We are seeking a professional individual to join our team as a Senior Product Manager - Parental leave cover (d/f/m) who will help us reach the next milestones!
Crafting and growing our transactional offering to enable the platform is key to Kleinanzeigen’s strategic pillars. Your team will be responsible for shaping the experience of our users buying or selling with our transactional features. You will also drive the expansion of our transactional offers and embed them naturally into the existing user flows. Our goal is to make trading on Kleinanzeigen a convenient and seamless experience whether it’s online or offline, with a private or commercial seller.
The role:
Help us grow our transactional business at Kleinanzeigen with your customer centric and business savvy product leadership whilst ensuring a balance between pragmatism and quality.
Leadership: Together with your Tech Lead and Engineering Manager counterparts, lead a full-stack development team to drive discoveries and deliveries of new features and improvements to the transactional experience. You will ensure clear communication, alignment, and accountability. For this, we expect you will provide servant leadership, fostering team focus, motivation, and timely delivery of key milestones. Oversee your team’s capacities and ensure a sustainable workload.
Stakeholder Management: Transparent and proactive communication is needed. Translate complex technical concepts into simple, clear terms for non-technical stakeholders, demonstrating the value delivered at every stage. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the product delivers optimal value and meets user requirements. Communication also includes managing project updates and reporting, keeping leadership informed on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Create and prioritize the product backlog: Define and prioritize the product backlog together with multiple stakeholders based on user needs, business impact, and technical feedback. Design user flows, and create the respective tech epics and tickets in close collaboration with your tech lead counterpart.
Discovery Management: You facilitate cross-functional projects where you slice a problem into manageable parts, drive the understanding of user needs and, together with your skilled colleagues, develop and test ideas to implement and solve the problem while ensuring product-market-fit.
Delivery Management: You will own your team’s project timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines, identifying risks early, and mitigating blockers to maintain progress. You will also facilitate a continuous delivery approach, ensuring smooth, step-by-step releases rather than a single final release, while focusing on iterating and ongoing improvement.
Roadmapping: Create your team’s roadmap: Scope and break down complex technical deliveries and discoveries into manageable work packages, epics, and tickets. Allow for incremental releases and continuous value delivery to users, while ensuring alignment and commitment from all stakeholders, including developers, business teams and other internal stakeholders (e.g. CS, UX, Data, Legal, Product Teams).
What you should bring:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Experience in technical product management (Discovery and Delivery), ideally within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Proven track record in delivering complex technical projects, managing both technical and business requirements.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to break down, prioritize and communicate complex tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to define problems and KPIs, collect data, communicate results and arrive at conclusions
Experience with agile and iterative product development methodologies.
Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
Ideally hands-on experience with marketplace environments and payment services
Fluent in English (written and spoken). German at C1 level is a plus.
