What you’ll do & Who you are
We're looking for an Fullstack Engineer (f/m/d), Parental Leave Cover (fixed-term contract 11 months) to join our passionated mobile.de team.
This is a hybrid role and our office is based in Berlin Charlottenburg.
About the team
This is an excellent opportunity to join our dealer-facing team at mobile.de. You’ll play a direct role in helping dealers manage inventory more effectively, act on data-driven recommendations, and streamline daily workflows by delivering intuitive, reliable tools.
Our diverse, cross-functional team (frontend, backend and full‑stack engineers, product manager and a UX designer) works closely together from discovery through delivery: researching user needs, designing solutions, shipping features, and operating them in production. You’ll contribute to both frontend and backend systems, influence product decisions, and help shape engineering practices that improve performance, maintainability and developer experience. If you enjoy hands-on problem solving, collaborative design, and seeing your work used by thousands of car dealers, this team is a great fit.
What you’ll do
- Be part of shaping our product from initial planning all the way through to launch.
- Take ownership of testing (both manual and automated)
- Ensure the quality of your product because you understand that quality is the responsibility of the entire team
- Actively contribute to product development by sharing ideas, recommending solutions, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Dedicate up to 30% of working time to maintain the code quality and contribute to initiatives related to platform improvements and best practices
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends. Learn new tech and non-tech related skills to grow yourself and your team
- Participate in design decisions, QA and code reviews
- Utilize both backend and frontend expertise to build scalable, maintainable end-to-end solutions.
- Communicate effectively with teammates and actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a learning culture.
Who you are
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Fullstack engineer (React, Typescript, Java 21 with Spring Boot)
- You worked in multi-disciplined agile teams and know that responsibility does not end with deployment.
- Passion to write clean and beautiful code, with an eye for simplicity and pragmatism.
- An ambition to follow the technology trends and apply new technologies to our technical stack.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
Frontend Expertise
- Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript, with strong command of modern frontend development practices.
- Solid hands-on experience with React.js, Next.js (SSR, API routes), core concepts like hooks, context API, component lifecycles, and other modern frontend architectures.
- Skilled in translating UI/UX designs from tools like Figma into responsive, pixel-perfect interfaces.
- Understanding of frontend performance optimization and cross-browser compatibility.
- Exposure to frontend testing tools like Jest, or React Testing Library is a plus.
Backend Knowledge
- Proficient in backend development using Java 21, with hands-on experience in Spring Boot and Maven.
- Strong experience designing and building applications using microservices architecture for scalability and maintainability.
- Expertise in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB, and search technologies like Elasticsearch.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Experience with distributed event-driven architectures using Kafka
