The Role and impact

As a Medior UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our e-commerce platform, from initial concept to launch and beyond. You'll be responsible for translating user needs and business goals into intuitive and effective designs that drive conversion and customer satisfaction. Working closely with product managers, developers, and other designers, you'll contribute to all stages of the product development lifecycle, ensuring a user-centric approach at every turn. You’ll have a large impact in the personal life of Dutch citizen on Marktplaats by providing them with a great experience shopping for products meeting their individual needs, budget and personal lifestyle.

What you’ll do

• Design delightful, intuitive and effective user flows and interactions to help solve the problems our customers face by using a structured design approach, delivering value for our users.

• Perform user research in collaboration with a UX researcher by building prototypes, coordinating interviews and helping to structure A/B tests.

• Work closely with Product Managers, front-end, app and back-end developers to define product requirements, understand business objectives, prioritize design initiatives and technical feasibility, leading to a successful implementation.

• Present design concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively to your design peers and a diverse group of stakeholders, fostering a culture of feedback and constructive critique.

• Maturing design solution bringing them from MVP to full product market fit by iterating on designs based on user feedback, usability testing results, and tesing/performance data.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional experience as a UX Designer, preferably within an e-commerce environment or a company with a strong digital product.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating a solid understanding of user-centered design principles and a proven ability to deliver impactful UX solutions for digital products.

• Proficiency in UX design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) to create stunning visuals, wireframes and interactive prototypes.

• Experience with user research methodologies and the ability to translate insights into actionable design solutions.

• Solid understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and usability principles.

• Comfortable in a cross-functional team where you inspire, collaborate and work in an agile way with people from other disciplines, like product managers, developers and data analysts.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) in an e-commerce context.

• Experience contributing to or working with design systems.
