What you’ll do ​& Who you are

About the team:
You will join our multi-disciplinary Buyers Journey & Advertising team in Amsterdam
as a front-end developer, reporting to the team's Engineering Manager. You will help
buyers across the full platform find the most relevant deals using modern
technologies in a microservices architecture. We take a data-driven, experimental,
and Agile approach, using neural networks for personalized content, using daily
multiple-rollouts, A/B testing, and insights-driven feature development.

What you'll do:
Work on our high-availability infrastructure, improving the customer
experience, the revenues, the architecture and the technologies.
Design and implement new projects in collaboration with colleagues and
partners
Mentor junior and mid-level developers
Help to improve work in all areas: coding, processes, testing, tools,
collaboration, ...
Be a technical partner for the organisation to help the business create
requirements
We will work with you to grow your skills and your career at Marktplaats.

Who you are:
You have experience in software development in online areas, with a big codebase
and a large user base. At least 6+ years of full-time employment on large and
distributed systems. You like and breathe Agile development, focus on delivering,
and like to take an active role in improving how we work.

Core Skills:
Experience with modern JavaScript (ES2020+), TypeScript, and React
(Hooks and server-side rendering).
Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3 (SASS, CSS Modules), and responsive
design principles.
Experience with testing libraries like Jest and React Testing Library;
ability to debug and solve cross-browser compatibility and
performance issues.
Experience with server-side tools like Node.js and Express.js.
Familiarity with modern build and bundling tools such as Webpack,
Babel, or Vite.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and running services in cloud
environments like GCP, AWS.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with React Frameworks like Next js, Playwright and CSS-in-
JS
