What you’ll do ​& Who you are

You will join Team Landlords, one of three Real Estate product development teams at Kleinanzeigen that are evolving our offering for both Real Estate professionals and seekers. The main focus of our team is to improve the value we deliver for professional Real Estate customers.

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager of the team.

This is a role with a hybrid work schedule, and our lovely new office that combines modern amenities with the charm of Berlin's roaring 20s is based in Charlottenburg.

What you'll do:

  • Be part of a welcoming and multicultural team, working in an Agile environment

  • Collaborate closely with frontend and mobile engineers, as well as product managers and UX designers

  • Develop high-quality backend systems applications, scaling to thousand of concurrent requests

  • Implement and maintain responsive user interfaces for our professional customer platform

  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices and coding standards

  • Wow our customers with how great everything looks and feels

  • Work with the team to constantly evolve our ways of working

  • Be an active part of our Engineering community to make sure the discipline keeps advancing throughout the company

Who you are:

  • You are an expert with 2+ years of experience in Java programming, having used the Spring Framework

  • You don't need to be a SQL-Magician, but you gained experience with RDBMS and/or NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra, MySQL)

  • Preferably you have operated microservices in public clouds (e.g. k8s and AWS)

  • You understand why testing matters

  • You know how to read and work with existing codebases

  • You always aim for bringing the best experience possible to our customers

  • You have worked in Agile environments before

  • You are fluent in English, the main human language used through out our work environment
